Facebook Knows More About Your Relationship Than You Do.

I’ve written about Facebook’s effects on interpersonal relationships before — especially romantically with the feared Relationship Status. Now, I’m even more creeped out by the so-called Facebook Effect.

Facebook knows when people are most likely to end their relationships. (And, we are assuming that this information is accurate because very few people keep their relationship status offline these days, no?) If you’re relationship is rocky in the Spring or Fall, watch out — you might get dumped! What’s most interesting is the significant dip for Christmas and New Year’s. Seems in line with human propensity to want company for the holidays — mean!

So, does Facebook know more about us — and our relationships — than we think? If so, is it okay?
