Instead of Friday, Make Today a Flow Day.
Blog
You may be asking yourself, “What the hell is a Flow Day and why would I give up my (precious) Friday for it?”
Simple.
You know those days where you spend the entire day running around like a chicken with its head cut off? Those days when putting out fires consumes commands all of your time? Those days where every single thing that could go wrong, does?
Today, my fellow badassery seekers, will not be that kind of day. Today will be a flow day.
A flow day is a day stocked full, too — it’s by no means a lazy day — but it is up to the brim in issues of a different nature. A flow day is a creative day. A flow day is a strategic day.
A flow day looks different to everyone, but let me tell you a little about my flow day, so you get an idea of what I’m talking about.
My flow day involves very little — which is precisely the point. All I need on my flow day is my computer, a cup of tea, and some peace and quiet. Sometimes, that means I turn my phone off and turn Freedom on for a few hours. (Freedom is a program I downloaded to cut myself off from the internet when I want to write without any distractions. It works.)
Other times, it means I Skype with people who can teach me things — things full of badassery in other industries or areas of interest. Sometimes, it means too much coffee. Sometimes, it means my eyes hurt from staring at the screen for so long. But it always means I feel creative and connected to what I’m truly supposed to be doing.
What’s your flow day like? (Hint: If you can’t quite imagine your flow day, think back to some of your favorite days ever. Flow days should feel like that, so start there.)
